developer has to be willing to provide
a significant discount for 24 hours.
Here is How it Works:
Software Deal of the Day offers great
software at significantly discounted
prices. The catch, is that the software
is only available at that price for
24 hours! New discounts are available
each day, monday through friday! On
occasion, the friday Software Deal
of the Day offer will be extended
and made available at the discounted
price throughout the weekend.
We also encourage MicroISVs to offer
a second chance discount, for those
customers who are unable to take advantage
of the discount offer during the Deal
of the Day timeframe, the second chance
discount is not usually as steep as
the Deal of the Day but will still
generate exposure for your software.
All programs are purchased through
the developers directly we do NOT
handle the ecommerce. All applications
should be provided with the same level
of support as if they were purchased
at full price. Software Deal of the
Day simply provides software developers
a new distribution channel.
If you are interested in having your
software featured on Software Deal

us. We will review the application
and determine whether it is suited
to our audience. If we feel that the
Software DOD visitors would have an
interest in the application, we will
contact you with a schedule date,
at this time we may request coupon
codes or special landing pages, in
order for us to prepare the web content
for the SoftwareDOD website. Please
get this information to us as quickly
as possible.
The offer will go live on the agreed
upon date. After the deal of the day
has passed the 2nd chance offer will
be listed. Please forward us the following
statistical information: number of
click-throughs from SoftwareDOD, the
number of downloads (if a trial is
offered) and the number of sales that
generated from the SoftwareDOD listing.

What kind of applications
are featured on software Deal of the
Day?
We try to feature applications that
have broad based appeal. Unfortunately
not all applications are suited to the
Software DOD website. We will not feature
adult applications or those we deem
to be unsuitable. We use the tracking
information to promote applications
which we feel will appeal to our audience.
How much
of a discount do I have to offer?
Priority will be given to software
developers that are willing to offer
significant discounts. We suggest
a 40% minimum discount.
Will you list
Mac applications or games?
No, not at this time.
Can I request
a specific day?
Yes, of course you can request a specific
day, that said we cannot guarentee
a specific day will be available.
Additionally, the product MUST
be released prior to the listing.
In other words if you are planning
a release on a specific date, but
the product is not available when
you contact us, we will be unable
to schedule a deal of the day for
you. Understanding the nuances and
problems that are inherent to software
launch schedules we have found that
it is best to only schedule applications
which are in release form at the time
the Deal of the Day is scheduled.
Please keep in mind the schedule can
be booked as much as 4 weeks in advance!
How long
will it take for my software to appear?
Generally the schedule is filled 2-4
weeks in advance.
What do
I do if my product does not sell?
Please let us know. This helps us
determine what kinds of applications
appeal to and do not appeal to our
audience. Often sales are influenced
by holidays or significant weather,
so do not be discouraged if your application
does not receive the attention you
expect during its listing.

How do I list my products on Software
Deal of the Day?
Contact
Us with the details of your discount
offer, and if your application fits
with those that appeal to our audience
we will contact you with a Deal of
the Day date. Additionally we will
draft a page that details the offer
you will need to approve the page.
In order for us to construct the web
page you will need to provide us a
coupon code, order URL, links to application
information and screenshots. This
information is also available in your
PAD file. You will need to either
set up a coupon code (that should
be valid for our testing) or a special
ordering page that shows the discount.
Additionally developers who wish
to receive additional promotion, need
to provide details for a second chance
offer. The second chance offer does
not need to be significant but should
not expire.
The offer will go live at Midnight
EST, we ask that after the software
runs, that you contact us with Download
Counts and the number of purchases
made as a result of the offer.
